André Rieu - And The Waltz Goes On
in
i know this might not be everyone cup of tea, however it is with works like this, that we can appreciate the hidden talents that aren't always discovered.
This is a piece that Anthony Hopkins wrote 50 years ago, in a time before he was an established actor.
Bravo!!

Why I Came 2 California - Young Pulse
in Funk, Nu DiscoAnyone who knows me knows how much I love this track. Adding a bit of extra sparkle top this boogie classic, Young Pulse beefs up the groove with some dance floor fire from kicks that don't go too far as edits like this tend to do, and some nice little extra claps, hi-hats and guitar licks that are sure to have you shuffling in your chair or walking with some extra bop in your step.

Skeletons - Marathon Man
in Afro-Beat
Been having a huge hankering for anything and everything African the last week or so, to the point where this afternoon I bought this on a whim during my work break this afternoon.
Hope to be able to have you guys round when I get a pre-amp for my record player so we can have a few drinks and enjoy some good records (this one in particular), for lovers of afrobeat, its everything that you will probably know and love about the genre, for those who have yet to dig deeper into the amazing rhythm and soul of African music, then I see this as a pretty great place to start (also highly recommend the Africa 100 playlist - Thanks Tom!). For the afrocentrics mentioned earlier, think raw, Mulatu-esque percussion doused in a concoction of funk fueled by blazing horns, tight percussive rhythms and a fair amount of dub delay.

Logos - Menace
in Grime
Straddling the divide between grime and jungle, Logos hit us with one of the best releases of last year with Cold Mission. To those uninitiated with the sounds of UK funky, grime and jungle - imagine a sound that would later on spawn dubstep, a sound resonating from what is hard to believe is already 12 years ago now, when pirate radio (think along the lines of Ali G, not The Boat That Rocked) was the medium of choice if you wanted to hear the latest and greatest in underground electronic music. Its 11 tracks of raw beats crafted from all manner of sounds, from gun clocks to synth stabs that will induce a fair bit of spacing out if you are listening on a good pair of headphones.
